Elan Primetime n4 w — Review

The Elan Primetime n4 w is the narrow-waisted women's frontside model in Elan's Primetime line, fitted with the Shift X plate. It uses the same 121/69/102 sidecut and Mono Ti construction as the men's Primetime 44 and shares the geometry — but not the construction — of the women's flagship n5 w Black Edition. Targeted at intermediate to advanced women who spend their days on prepared pistes and want a precise short-to-medium-radius carver without stepping all the way up to a top-tier race-style ski.

On groomers the n4 w sets an edge quickly thanks to the 69 mm waist and short radius — 10.0 m at 144 cm climbing to 13.7 m at 165 cm. The asymmetric Amphibio profile keeps the outside edge engagement tolerant while the cambered inside edge holds a clean line through the body of the turn. Mono Ti over a Dual Density Woodcore gives reliable edge hold at moderate-to-brisk piste speeds. Push hard on icy steeps and you will feel the limit of a single titanal layer versus the stiffer n5 w Black Edition, but at intermediate to advanced piste tempos it stays composed and easy to bend.
