Overview

The Fischer The Curv Noize DTX is the 26/27 version of Fischer's DTX piste carver, sold as a package with the RSX Z12 GW PowerRail binding. It replaces the Fischer The curv dtx with a new 118-72-103 mm shape, 2 mm wider underfoot than before, and adds Fischer's World Cup-derived Noize Control damping. Fischer pitches it as "dynamic in turns for limitless skiing pleasure" and rates it for advanced skiers on groomed pistes only. Next to the stiffer The Curv Noize it is the slightly lighter, more forgiving option in the same 72 mm family.

On-snow performance

On paper the DTX is built for lively, precise carving rather than all-out race power. Fischer promises "extremely capable turning ability", optimal stability and race-level performance for frontside skiers. The Radical Triple Radius sidecut is designed for fast turn initiation, and the radii — 14.5 m at 157 cm, 15 m at 164 cm, 16 m at 171 cm and 17.5 m at 178 cm — point to medium turns as its home ground. Two thin titanal layers and Noize Control should keep it calm on firm snow, while the Superflex plate is meant to add rebound out of the turn. Published reviews call it stiff and energetic, best when the skier drives it actively, and less at ease in soft chop.

Construction & specs explained

  • Core: Solid Woodcore (beech/poplar).
  • Metal: Shaped Ti 0.5/0.5 — two 0.5 mm titanal layers.
  • Damping: Noize Control, which applies metal pigments to defined zones to reduce vibrations.
  • Reinforcement: Fiberglass Bridge in the binding area.
  • Sidewall: Sandwich Sidewall Construction with Race Sidewall.
  • Plate and binding: factory Superflex plate (PowerRail only) with the RSX Z12 GW PowerRail binding.
  • Shape and tune: Radical Triple Radius, World Cup Tuning, sintered base, 87° side and 0.8° base bevel.
  • Per-length specs: 157 cm (118/72/102, 14.5 m), 164 cm (118/72/103, 15 m), 171 cm (118/72/103, 16 m, 2050 g per ski without binding), 178 cm (119/72/103, 17.5 m). Lengths: 150, 157, 164, 171 and 178 cm.

Who it's for & comparisons

The DTX suits advanced piste skiers who want a precise, energetic carver for medium turns but do not need the full stiffness of a race-plate ski. The Rossignol Hero elite mt ti is a close rival: a metal-laminate 74 mm carver with a similar balance of grip and accessibility. The Volkl Peregrine 72 offers a comparable 72 mm frontside platform with a reputation for smooth edge hold, while the Elan Ace sc7 is another 72 mm system carver aimed at strong recreational skiers. Within Fischer, Fischer The curv noize adds thicker titanal, a Carbon Bridge and the M-Plate for experts who want more power.

Pros, cons and verdict

Pros

  • Two titanal layers and Noize Control for calm, grippy carving.
  • Radical Triple Radius for quick turn initiation.
  • Superflex plate adds rebound between turns.
  • Wide size range from 150 to 178 cm.

Cons

  • Needs an active, forward stance; not a cruiser for relaxed skiers.
  • 2050 g per ski at 171 cm before the binding.
  • Strictly on-piste; struggles in soft, chopped snow.
  • System-only: the Superflex plate works only with PowerRail bindings.

Verdict: The Fischer The Curv Noize DTX is a lively, well-damped 72 mm carver for advanced piste skiers — a more accessible step below The Curv Noize, with the same new shape and Noize Control.
