Overview
The Dynastar M tour 94 (sold as the M-Tour 94 Open) is new for 2026/27 and puts a 93–94 mm waist into Dynastar's free-touring line, between the Dynastar M tour 90 and the Dynastar M tour 100. It is built around the brand's Hybrid Core 2.0, a light poplar core combined with PU, inside a sandwich full-sidewall construction, with a long progressive rocker in tip and tail. The shape is 127-93-118 mm in the 160 and 170 cm lengths and 128-94-118 mm in 178 and 186 cm, and the radius grows from 14 m to 18 m. Dynastar rates it for expert skiers and describes its terrain split as 80% freeride and 20% piste. It is sold flat ("Open"), so the touring binding is your choice.
On-snow performance
On paper this is a descent-minded touring ski. The long, high progressive rocker in tip and tail should make the ski easy to pivot in tight spots, help the shovel plane up in fresh snow and keep it from hooking in crud. The full sidewall promises a more direct, connected edge than a cap build when the snow is firm, wind-packed or refrozen in spring. With 17 m at 178 cm, medium to long turns are the natural shape; the 160 cm version at 14 m will turn noticeably tighter. At 1350 g per ski in 178 cm it sits in the light-but-not-skimo class: efficient on the way up, without the nervous feel of a sub-1100 g race ski on the way down. The 118 mm tail is generous for a 94 mm waist, which suggests support at the end of the turn rather than a quick, loose release.

Who it's for & comparisons
The M tour 94 is for a strong skier who tours for the descent and wants one ski for mid-winter powder days as well as firm spring lines. Compared with the Dynastar M tour 90, it is wider underfoot with a much bigger tail (118 mm against 110 mm): more float and support, a little less of the narrow ski's quickness on hard snow. The Dynastar M tour 100 is the next step up in float at 134-100-124 mm, at a similar 1380 g in 178 cm. Outside Dynastar, the Head Crux 93 has almost the same waist with a longer 18.6 m radius at 177 cm and a lighter 1280 g, the Black diamond Helio carbon 95 goes lighter still with a carbon lay-up, and the Movement Alp tracks 96 weighs around 1300 g at 178 cm with a 19 m radius, which makes the Dynastar the tighter-turning ski of the group.
Pros, cons and verdict
Pros
- Full sidewall and poplar core for a solid, connected edge on firm snow.
- Long progressive tip and tail rocker for float and easy pivots.
- Four lengths from 160 to 186 cm, with the radius scaled from 14 to 18 m.
- Sold flat, so it can be paired with any touring binding.
Cons
- At 1350 g in 178 cm it is not the ski for weight-obsessed long-distance tours.
- Tip and tail rocker shorten the effective edge on icy traverses.
- Rated for expert skiers, so less forgiving for touring beginners.
- The binding is a separate purchase, which adds to the total cost.
Verdict: A descent-oriented 94 mm free-touring ski that fills the gap between the M tour 90 and the M tour 100. Choose it if you value float and full-sidewall edge hold more than the last few saved grams.
