On firm groomers the Black Pearl 88 holds an edge with the kind of confidence that justifies its status — the single Fluxform titanal layout transfers leg pressure to a clean trench without being intimidating, and the per-length radius scaling means the 158 cm ski genuinely turns shorter than the 170 cm. In chop, the rocker-camber-rocker profile and 88 mm waist stay calm where narrower all-mountain skis chatter. Where it shows its limits is at top resort speed in genuinely rough conditions — the single-titanal construction gives way to dual-metal women's freeride options like the Sheeva 10 — but as a one-quiver women's all-mountain platform for everything from groomer mornings to soft-snow afternoons, very little matches it.
