Overview
The Hero MT CA Konect is new for 26/27 and sits at the entry of Rossignol's Hero piste family: a race-inspired medium-turn carver built, in Rossignol's words, so that intermediate skiers can enjoy race-like speed without the demands of the Hero Elite MT Ti. The geometry is Rossignol's medium-turn Hero shape — 128-73-111 mm in every length, with a radius that grows from 12 m at 154 cm to 16 m at 184 cm — but the metal is gone. In its place Rossignol fits a 2 Carbon Beam reinforcement over a PEFC poplar core, keeps the rectangular full sidewall and the LCT (Line Control Technology) stabiliser, and adds the new Power Tip and V-Profile flex. It is a Konect system ski, supplied with the NX 12 Konect GW binding.
On-snow performance
On paper this is a ski for clean medium-radius arcs on groomed snow rather than a slalom-style quick-turner: 14 m at 170 cm and 15 m at 178 cm sit between the short-turn Hero Carve and the GS-leaning Hero Elite LT Ti. The construction suggests a lighter, more forgiving feel than the Titanal version. Carbon gives torsional stiffness and edge grip without the damping mass of metal, so the ski should roll onto its edge quickly and release easily at moderate speeds, and the V-Profile progressive flex should not punish a slightly late or back-seat entry. The flip side is that a carbon beam does not quiet a ski the way Titanal does; at full speed on hard, chopped-up afternoon pistes the Elite MT Ti will stay calmer. Pronounced traditional camber with a short tip rocker keeps a long effective edge for grip on firm snow. With 73 mm underfoot and full sidewalls, it is a piste ski, full stop.

Who it's for & comparisons
The MT CA is for intermediate and progressing advanced piste skiers who want the Hero look and medium-turn geometry in a more forgiving, metal-free package. Within the line, the Rossignol Hero elite mt ti adds a Titanal layer for damping and bite at speed and asks for a stronger, more forward skier; the Rossignol Hero carve is the 68 mm short-turn specialist; the Rossignol Forza 40d is the easier, lighter alternative for skiers who are not ready for a full Hero. Outside Rossignol, the Head Supershape e magnum (72 mm, Titanal and Graphene) is the more demanding, more powerful cross-shop; the Salomon S max 10 (72.5 mm, 13–16 m) and the Volkl Peregrine 72 (72 mm, 12.7–16.4 m) sit in the same accessible medium-turn class.
Pros, cons and verdict
Pros
- Carbon Beam over a poplar core gives edge grip without the weight and sternness of Titanal.
- Medium-turn 12–16 m radius range across five lengths from 154 to 184 cm.
- Full sidewall, LCT and Power Tip borrowed from the Hero race family.
- Konect system with the NX 12 Konect GW binding, tool-free adjustable.
Cons
- No metal, so less damping than the Hero Elite MT Ti at speed on rough pistes.
- At 1.7–2.0 kg per ski it is not a light piste ski.
- The Konect plate ties you to Konect-compatible bindings.
- 73 mm underfoot: a groomer-only ski with no soft-snow versatility.
- 765 € with binding places it in the upper intermediate price tier.
Verdict: The Hero MT CA brings the Hero medium-turn shape, full sidewall and LCT to intermediates in a carbon-reinforced, metal-free build with the NX 12 Konect binding included. If you want more bite and calm at speed, step up to the Elite MT Ti; if you want easier still, look at the Forza 40D.
