Dobermann multipista dc fdt review
Detailed review of the Nordica Dobermann Multipista DC FDT: Energy 2 Ti DC, 74 mm waist, TPX 13 Royal FDT, 160–185 cm. Feel, turns, pros, cons and specs.
Overview
The Dobermann Multipista DC FDT is the top model of Nordica's new 2026/27 Multipista family, the brand's answer to skiers who want race-level grip on the groomers without a race ski's narrow comfort zone. Nordica sums it up as "the most versatile carving ski on the mountain" and the tagline "Double the core. Double the fun." The key facts: a 74 mm waist, a Multi-Condition Shape, two titanal layers in the Energy 2 Ti DC construction, and a factory-mounted TPX 13 Royal FDT binding on the FDT Race Plate Pro N. It comes in six lengths from 160 to 185 cm (product code 0A6625). Do not confuse it with the Nordica Multipista dc 74 ti fdt, which shares the shape but has one titanal sheet and a TPX 12 binding.
On-snow performance
On paper this is a ski for strong piste skiers. Nordica describes it as precise and powerful on firm groomers and damp and agile in the ungroomed snow at the edge of the run. The radius runs from 14 m at 160 cm to 16.5 m at 185 cm, so the natural turn is a medium carve rather than a tight slalom arc. The wide tip with on-piste rocker should make turn entry easy, while the tail shape is meant to hold the ski through the apex of the turn. Two metal layers around a double wood core suggest a calm, heavy-feeling ski at speed, and Nordica's factory edge angles (0.9° base, 87.5° side) point the same way: a sharp, race-style tune out of the box. Off the piste, the 74 mm waist and a tip of at most 121 mm limit float to a few centimetres of fresh snow.

Who it's for & comparisons
This ski is for advanced and expert skiers who spend most days on groomed runs, like to carve at speed and want a ski that stays composed when the piste turns soft in the afternoon. Inside Nordica's range, the Nordica Multipista dc 74 ti fdt has the same sidecut and radii in 160–185 cm but uses one titanal sheet, a TPX 12 binding and adds 150 and 155 cm lengths; it is the friendlier and cheaper choice. The Nordica Multipista dc 80 ti fdt is the wider 80 mm version for skiers who leave the piste more often. Outside Nordica, the Rossignol Hero elite mt ti is a 74 mm titanal piste ski with a wider 109 mm tail, and the Atomic Redster q9 is a 75 mm full-camber system ski that is aimed at a similar strong piste skier.
Pros, cons and verdict
Pros
- Two titanal layers and a double wood core for a damp, stable ride.
- Medium radii of 14–16.5 m that suit fast, round carving turns.
- Rockered tip for easier turn entry than a pure race ski.
- TPX 13 Royal binding with DIN up to 13 for heavier and stronger skiers.
Cons
- The factory plate and binding rule out touring and aftermarket bindings.
- Heavier than the single-titanal Multipista 74, and more demanding at low speed.
- The shortest length is 160 cm, so lighter and smaller skiers have few options.
- A 74 mm waist gives little float off the piste.
Verdict: The most powerful ski in the Multipista family: a two-metal piste carver for strong skiers who want stability at speed and some tolerance for soft afternoon snow. Lighter or less aggressive skiers will be happier on the single-titanal Multipista 74.
