The RC Magic junior is a sporty carving ski aimed at advanced young skiers who spend most of their time on groomed runs and love short to medium radius turns. A full camber profile tip-to-tail gives continuous edge contact and reliable grip, while the relatively narrow waist produces quick edge-to-edge transitions and snappy turn initiation. Lengths run from 110 to 160 cm, letting parents choose sizes for growing children and teens. On snow this ski feels lively, predictable and confidence-inspiring for developing technique.
On piste the RC Magic excels at clean, committed carving. The EST sidewall and Channel Woodcore combine to provide torsional stiffness and stability for a junior ski, keeping the edge engaged through committed turns. The camber profile adds precision and pop on hardpack and groomers, helping young skiers hold arcs without chatter or loss of edge. It’s less suited to soft snow or off-piste excursions where the narrow waist and carving-focused geometry limit flotation and forgiveness.
Construction blends a Channel Woodcore, fiberglass reinforcement, EST sidewall and a sintered high-speed base. Channel Woodcore uses milled channels to reduce weight and vibration while retaining flex control. EST sidewalls deliver vertical sidewall contact for crisp power transfer to the edge, improving edge hold and turn precision. The full camber profile maintains continuous edge contact for predictable rebound and strong carving performance. These features, plus an eco-assembly approach, make it a refined junior race-style package.
Sizing and intended skier: pick a length based on skier height, strength and progression. Shorter sizes (110–130 cm) favor agility and easy turn initiation for smaller kids, while longer sizes (140–160 cm) offer more stability and higher-speed control for larger, stronger juniors. The Junior Shift binding system allows tool-free sole-length adjustment to grow with the child, a big practical advantage. Note that published weights are for ski+binding sets; exact ski-only weights are not provided by the manufacturer but can be approximated from retailer listings.
Pros and cons: strengths are excellent edge grip, snappy handling, and a practical, adjustable binding system. Potential drawbacks include limited off-piste versatility and slightly less high-speed damping for heavier juniors compared with adult race skis. Compared to other junior carving skis, the RC Magic stands out with its Channel Woodcore and EST sidewall for a refined feel. Overall it’s a strong choice for dedicated junior carvers focused on groomed-slope performance and skill development.
