The Reckoner 124 is a dedicated powder twin built for riders who want to surf and play in deep snow. Its very wide platform and long, high rocker in both tip and tail make it instantly floaty and forgiving in soft conditions. The full twin-tip shape encourages spins, switch laps and playful landings, while the flat section underfoot keeps turns predictable. This isn’t a do-it-all resort ski, but when the snow deepens it becomes a lively, confidence-inspiring tool for big lines and creative terrain maneuvers.
Construction mixes a lightweight aspen core with Spectral and triaxial braid reinforcements plus longitudinal carbon stringers. The dimensions of 150/124/148 mm (tip/waist/tail) mean a lot of surface area for float: a wide tip helps lift, the 124 mm waist balances float and maneuverability, and a slightly narrower tail aids release. Weight (about 2500 g per ski at 189 cm) affects swing weight and stability. Full-length sidewalls improve edge-to-edge power and durability, and a sintered base preserves top speed and structure.
On snow the ski truly shines in deep, variable powder: the long rocker keeps it riding on top, making surfing and slash turns effortless. The flat section underfoot delivers a predictable flex pattern and a surfy, flowing feel when laying into bigger arcing turns. In pillow lines and during drop landings the ski is playful but composed; carbon stringers add pop for ollies and boost. Shorter lengths are nimble through trees, while the longest length gives extra high-speed tracking and float in very deep days.
Stability and edge control are surprisingly good for such a wide platform thanks to the TwinTech sidewalls and the braid/carbon layup, though it won’t hold like narrower, stiffer freeride skis on firm ice. Compared to other 120+ mm powder twins it finds a solid middle ground—more pop and response than pure surf planks, yet with more torsional strength than some ultra-wide park-to-powder boards. Daily groomer performance and icy-edge grip are where it compromises; this is a specialist ski that excels in its intended environment.
This ski is ideal for riders prioritizing deep snow surfability, playful freestyle in powder, and big-mountain exploration. If your season is mostly piste laps or you demand razor-sharp edge hold on hardpack, a narrower, stiffer option will serve better. For heli days, cat-skiing, backcountry powder laps or simply hunting the freshest turns at the resort, it’s a convincing choice. Overall, the Reckoner 124 is a purpose-built powder twin that balances float, pop and durability for adventurous skiers.
