The Dobermann GS Race Plate is a full-camber, FIS-approved junior/transition GS race ski built for on-piste training and racing. It targets developing racers who need a stable, powerful platform for GS lines on groomed hardpack. Supplied with a factory-installed 10 mm Piston Plate and race-ready base and edge bevels, the ski arrives prepared for binding setup and intensive training sessions. Its design emphasizes consistent performance and reliability across repetitive training runs and junior-level competitions.
Construction follows the Energy 2 TI recipe: a performance wood core sandwiched with titanal metal laminates and a sidewall for direct edge grip and vibration damping. Full camber means long effective edge contact, which improves stability and carving precision. The 10 mm Marker Piston Plate increases power transfer to the binding and helps with consistent mounting geometry. Nordica publishes weight per pair (e.g., ~3360 g at 173 cm) and radius ≥23 m (≥25 m at 188 cm). Exact sidecut numbers are marked R&D and not publicly listed.
On snow the ski feels planted at speed: the metal laminate smooths chatter and lets you hold a clean arc on hard groomers. The longer radius favors long, flowing GS turns rather than short, rapid gate transitions. Edge hold is firm and predictable provided you drive the ski with good pressure through the turn; the full-camber profile rewards precise technique. It skis best on hardpack and icy surfaces — in soft or variable snow it’s less versatile and will feel heavy and demanding.
This ski is ideal for U14–U16 racers and trainers who need a race-ready tool for training and FIS junior events. Compared to other junior GS race skis, it competes strongly on stability and damping thanks to its titanal layup and piston plate, making it similar to other race-focused junior offerings from major brands. For recreational skiers or those seeking an all-mountain GS, however, the Race Plate is more specialized and less forgiving.
Considerations before buying: it’s a heavy, demanding ski that needs strong technique and correct mounting to perform. The omission of published tip/waist/tail measurements on Nordica’s spec sheet can complicate tuning and exact binding placement; ask a dealer or Nordica for sidecut dimensions if precision mounting matters. Have a qualified race technician mount and tune the ski, choose length according to coach/team guidance, and expect excellent straight-line stability but limited off-piste versatility.
