Lib Tech Wunderstick 106 — Review

The Lib Tech Wunderstick 106 is a 106mm-waist freeride with the same Eco Light B45 basalt/eco-wood construction and Magne-Traction edge tech as the 100 but scaled for softer snow, chop and mixed off-piste. 171/178/185cm with a 19m radius across all lengths.

The 19m radius and 106mm waist deliver relaxed carving arcs and clean float in medium-depth pow. Magne-Traction still gives useful hardpack teeth for the traverse home. Not the lightest 106mm on the market, but the added mass helps punch through chop rather than deflect.

171cm: 134/106/124, 19m, ~1769g, flex 7/10. 178cm: 137/106/126, 19m, ~1905g, flex 7.5. 185cm: 142/106/130, 19m, ~2055g, flex 8. Eco Light B45 basalt-fiber sandwich sidewall over hybrid recycled PET/eco wood core, sintered base, Magne-Traction serrated edges.

Versus the Nordica Enforcer 104 it swaps titanal-plank stability for a lighter, more playful basalt build; against the K2 Mindbender 108Ti it's less locked-in and easier to release into a smear; alongside the Armada Arv 106 it's more freeride-directional than the Arv's freestyle-forward stance.

• Not a light touring platform at ~1900g.

Verdict: A well-rounded 106mm freeride for skiers who want basalt-driven pop, mid-weight chop authority and Magne-Traction hardpack bite in one platform.
