The Flight is a lightweight all-mountain ski aimed at skiers seeking precise performance on groomers with enough versatility for light touring and varied conditions. Its subtle tip and tail rocker combined with 3.5 mm of camber underfoot provides a balanced blend of float in soft snow and edge grip on firm surfaces. The 95 mm waist promotes quick edge-to-edge transitions while the relatively wide tip and tail offer confidence when initiating carves. On snow the ski feels playful yet controlled, ideal for riders who spend their days on piste but want the option to venture off-trail.
Construction uses an Aspen Xtra Light core reinforced with pre-cured carbon stringers and a quasi-isotropic 4-axis fiberglass layup, yielding a low overall weight while keeping torsional stiffness. Full-height UHMW sidewalls and a hardened 'Light Edge' deliver edge hold and durability; meanwhile a thinner sintered 'Light Base' trims mass but can be more susceptible to wear under aggressive use. The 127-95-114 mm dimensions influence performance: the narrow waist favors quick turns, the pronounced sidecut and longer effective edge drive confident carving and precision.
On groomers The Flight excels at quick to medium-radius carves; the deep sidecut and generous effective edge make edge changes effortless. Low swing weight results in lively turn initiation and agile handling, while camber underfoot adds pop and stability when encountering compressions or harder snow. Compared to lightweight all-mountain carving skis from other manufacturers, it stands out for integrating touring-minded features and a slightly softer, more playful flex, making it less punishing and more engaging on varied terrain.
For touring and backcountry use the ski’s low mass and practical details are assets: a tail notch for skin-clip retention pairs neatly with pre-cut climbing skins, and weights from roughly 1,470 g to 1,710 g per ski (depending on length) keep uphill effort reasonable. The Flight is a solid choice for light, fast laps and mixed day tours, though it won’t replace a dedicated fat-powder ski — the 95 mm waist is a compromise that favors versatility and climbability over pure floatation in deep snow.
Who should buy The Flight? It’s best for advanced to experienced skiers who prioritize a lightweight, piste-biased ski that can also handle light touring. Pros include excellent carve responsiveness, low swing weight, and thoughtful touring features. Potential drawbacks are limited deep-snow performance and thinner base/edge materials that may wear faster under heavy park use or rock impacts. If you want a fun, energetic carve ski that doubles as a capable light touring companion, this model deserves serious consideration.
