The Cloud Q11 suits intermediate to advanced women who prioritize confident edge hold and lively, predictable turns on groomed snow. It mixes a friendly flex with enough backbone to handle higher edge angles and morning hardpack, yet it won’t punish a lighter stance or imperfect technique. If your days are mostly on-piste and you want a ski that feels quick underfoot, grips reliably on firm corduroy, and still stays manageable through a full day of laps, this strikes a thoughtful balance between accessibility, stability, and all‑day energy.
On groomers, the full camber engages immediately, rewarding a centered stance with clean entry and laser‑like edge tracking. The 78–79 mm waist snaps edge to edge with minimal effort, and the multi‑radius sidecut supports short to medium arcs without feeling locked in. It’s happiest carving medium‑speed turns, but remains composed when you open it up, with enough damping to smooth chatter. On refrozen surfaces it holds tenaciously; in light afternoon chop it stays predictable, though its lighter build prefers an active, agile approach over straight‑lining through piles.
The Flite wood core keeps swing weight low, which helps with quick transitions and reduces fatigue. A single titanal layer (TI Powered) adds torsional rigidity and damping, so the edges bite securely and vibrations are muted without making the ski overly stiff. The Dura Cap Sidewall blends a durable cap with vertical sidewalls for solid bite and longevity. The tail finishes turns with authority but releases cleanly when you ease pressure, making skid‑to‑carve transitions intuitive. A structured topsheet, World Cup base finish, and tip protectors round out durability and glide.
Lengths are 146, 155, and 164 cm: shorter feels quicker and easier to steer; longer brings more stability and edge hold. Tip widths of 121/123/125 mm help the ski pull into the turn; the 78–79 mm waist favors fast edge changes on hard snow; tails at 104.5/107/110.5 mm deliver confident finishes and easy release. Active camber (0/100/0) maximizes edge contact for grip. Sidecut radii of 12.3/13.1/13.9 m encourage quick to medium carves. Listed around 2245 g per ski with binding at 155 cm; actual bare‑ski weights vary by length and source.
Compared with heavier, metal‑laden frontside carvers in the low‑80 mm range, the Q11 is nimbler and less demanding, though it can’t match their bulldozer calm at very high speeds. Versus lighter, non‑metal piste skis, it tracks better and feels more planted in rougher corduroy. Trade‑offs include modest float and limited smear‑ability off‑piste, and in chopped piles the light core can get deflected if you charge hard. Expert aggressors may prefer a stiffer, race‑flavored carver; progressing intermediates and lighter advanced skiers will love the forgiving power‑to‑precision ratio.
