Atomic Redster sg fis

Who it’s for

This is a pure FIS Super‑G tool built for speed, not a free‑ski. It shines on homologated SG courses where long, directional pressure and clean line choice win races. Strong juniors, collegiate athletes, and masters can pick sizes that match their regulations, while elite women and men gravitate to 207 and 212 cm. It demands modern technique, early commitment, and the confidence to let it run. If you need a ski to cruise or smear, look elsewhere; this rewards racers who generate pressure and stay stacked over the outside ski.

Construction and feel

The build combines an Ultra Power Woodcore with a full‑width Titanal laminate and full sidewalls, then adds Revoshock suspension modules in the forebody. The result is a remarkably quiet platform that still drives forward out of the turn. Active Camber keeps the entire edge engaged, so guidance is precise and immediate when you roll it up early. The Icon race plate provides a rigid interface for race bindings, transmitting input without lag. On‑snow, it feels solid underfoot, quick to settle after impacts, and eager to accelerate when the pressure releases.

Stability and edge hold

At speed on salt, injected ice, or wind‑buff, it stays planted. Revoshock’s spring‑steel cartridges soak up high‑frequency vibration, reducing skating‑like chatter and keeping the shovel connected so you can carve cleaner at inspection‑to‑race pace. The torsional stiffness from the Titanal helps the edge track without shearing, and the tail finishes arced turns predictably rather than snapping. It’s happiest when you’re fully committed; at low speed it can feel wooden and resistant to bending, but give it Super‑G tempo and it rewards with composure and trust.

Sizing, setup, and specs explained

In 207 cm, stated dimensions are 95‑65‑81.2 mm with a 40 m radius. Tip width influences early turn engagement; the modest 95 mm keeps the entry clean and stable. A 65 mm waist reduces lever effect for rapid edge change and maximal grip. Tail width of 81.2 mm supports long, directional finishes without hooking. The 40 m radius meets FIS SG norms, favoring speed and shallow angles. Active Camber means full edge contact for bite on ice. Listed weight around 3223 g per ski helps calm vibration. Lengths span 185 to 212 cm.

Drawbacks and alternatives

This is demanding, heavy, and course‑specific. It needs speed and clean pressure to bend; lighter or less aggressive skiers may work harder than on a softer SG or long GS. It’s not a resort charger or powder tool, and the plate/binding stack can fatigue legs on long freeski laps. Compared with other top‑tier SG skis, the personality is slightly more damp than playful, with a touch more drive out of the fall line. If you prefer a looser feel, consider softer flex patterns; developing racers might size down or choose a longer GS.
