Volkl Revolt 112 — Review

The Volkl Revolt 112 is new for season 26/27, slotting between the existing Revolt 104 and Revolt 121 in Volkl's freestyle-powder lineup. With a 112 mm waist, 3D Radius Sidecut, twin-tip-leaning progressive shape and surfy rocker profile, it sits as a more freestyle-oriented alternative to the more directional Revolt 114, while bringing real powder float that the 104 can't match.

The Revolt 112 rewards a freestyle-leaning approach. The progressive symmetrical shape and ample tip-and-tail rocker make it loose and surfy in soft snow, with easy slashes, switch landings and pivot-able directional changes. The 3D Radius Sidecut keeps it carving with intent when the snow lets up — the mid-body 17.4 m radius at 178 cm is short enough for medium-radius turns while the tip/tail extensions keep it stable in straight runs. At higher speeds and harder snow it doesn't lock down like the more directional Revolt 114, but for its intended use (powder days, side-of-piste cliffs, mixed-snow freestyle) it sits right in the sweet spot.

An advanced freestyle-leaning skier who wants a powder ski that still skis switch and pivots quickly. Compared to the Volkl Revolt 114 it is more symmetrical and more freestyle — the 114 carves harder with more directional stability, the 112 throws more shifty tricks. Against the Volkl Revolt 121 the 112 is narrower and slightly less powder-capable but much quicker edge-to-edge and easier in tight trees. Compared to the Volkl Revolt 104, the 112 brings 8 mm more waist and real powder float — pick the 104 for everyday all-mountain freestyle, the 112 for deep-snow days with park-style intentions.
