Nordica Belle sl dc fdt

Overview

The Belle SL DC FDT is a focused, performance-oriented women’s carving ski designed for time spent on groomers. Offered in 150, 155, 160 and 165 cm, it features a narrow 69 mm waist and relatively short radii, making it ideal for short to medium turns. The full-camber profile (no tip/tail rocker) provides direct edge engagement and highly responsive behavior. This is not an all-mountain tool; it excels on firm, groomed snow where precision and edge hold matter most and where aggressive turn initiation is rewarded.

Construction and key specs

The construction uses an Energy TI Double Core: two wood cores with a titanal (metal) layer and a pulse core elastomer sandwiched between them, combined with sidewalls and the FDT Race Plate N. Titanal gives torsional stiffness and stability at speed; the elastomer dampens chatter for a smoother feel. Full camber maximizes edge contact and grip. Sidecut dimensions (tip 118–120 mm, waist 69 mm, tail 102–104 mm) plus a turn radius of 11–13 m (length-dependent) promote fast edge-to-edge transitions and incisive carving.

On‑piste performance

On piste the ski feels immediate and lively. The metal laminate and double core deliver confidence at speed and strong edge hold on hardpack. The narrow 69 mm waist makes turn initiation exceptionally quick with minimal effort when shifting edges, perfect for rhythmic, short-slalom style turns. The full camber provides precise feedback; the elastomer adds a useful amount of damping on choppy sections, but overall this is a piste precision tool rather than a forgiving, soft all-round ski.

Who it's for and sizing

This ski targets committed, edge-focused female skiers seeking quick edge-to-edge performance and stability in short-to-medium turns. Choose the shorter lengths (150–155 cm) if you want maximum maneuverability and faster, snappier reactions; the 160–165 cm versions offer more stability at speed and hold better in longer arcs. The Natural Stance mounting (slightly lowered heel) centers the skier for a more neutral position and often improves control and balance for many women.

Pros, cons and comparisons

Strengths include immediate edge response, excellent carving ability and a planted, damped feel thanks to the metal layer and elastomer. Potential drawbacks are limited versatility in soft or varied snow due to the narrow waist and full camber; it's less forgiving off-piste. Compared to other women’s performance carving skis, it stands out for precision and stability, but riders seeking a more versatile or powder-capable ski should look for wider, rockered alternatives.
