The Belle 72 CA presents itself as a women-focused, piste-oriented ski with a playful, forgiving character. Built around an On Piste Rocker profile — a slightly uplifted tip and subtle tip/tail rocker with camber underfoot — it feels confident on groomed runs. The 72 mm waist keeps the contact narrow and responsive, making quick edge-to-edge transitions and short-to-medium radius turns easy. For beginners to light intermediates this ski provides confidence and progressive feedback without overwhelming the rider.
On snow the ski immediately impresses with easy turn initiation: the shorter FDT Free Demo Plate Short and the factory TP2 COMPACT 10 FDT binding promote an early, communicative edge engagement and smooth initiation. Natural Stance technology centers the rider a couple of millimetres back to enhance balance and control, which is particularly helpful when learning parallel turns. While the Belle 72 CA handles cruising speeds well, it’s not a high-speed race plank — expect predictable behavior rather than razor-sharp stability at extreme speeds.
The Energy CA construction combines a Lite Performance Wood core and sidewall construction to balance lightness with predictable flex. Key specs and what they mean: tip/waist/tail (117–122 / 72 / 96–101 mm) – a narrower waist equals quicker edge-to-edge response; radius (10.7–14.5 m) – shorter radii make tighter turns, longer radii add stability at speed; weight (~1.10–1.40 kg per ski) – lighter skis are easier to handle and swing. The factory plate is short to encourage natural flex and easier turning.
This model is aimed squarely at beginners progressing toward intermediate levels who want an easy, forgiving ski that rewards skill development. For sizing, shorter lengths give very quick, small-radius turns and easier handling; longer lengths increase stability and give a more secure feel at higher speeds. Typical length choice should consider rider height, weight and commitment: choose around chin to nose height for learning short turns, or toward head height for greater confidence on longer groomers.
Positives include approachable flex, fast turn initiation and women-specific mounting that improves balance. Drawbacks: it lacks the torsional stiffness and damping that stronger all-mountain or race-oriented skis provide on sore, icy or choppy snow. Compared to wider Belle variants the 72 CA is more nimble on hardpack; the 73 and 75 models add stability and off-piste capability, while other DC versions may use different layups to emphasize livelier performance. Overall, a smart pick for progressing piste skiers.
