The Sequence 92 is a lightweight freerando ski designed for skiers who want efficient uphill performance without sacrificing downhill capability. With a 92 mm waist, tip rocker and camber underfoot, it aims to deliver a balanced mix of climbing efficiency, nimble turn initiation and stable edge hold on piste. Available from 154 to 185 cm, the line accommodates lighter tourers and larger all‑mountain riders. The overall philosophy is an honest compromise: remove unnecessary grams for the ascent while keeping enough chassis and reinforcement for confident descents.
On snow the Sequence 92 feels composed and communicative. Camber underfoot provides firm edge bite and pop when exiting turns, while the front rocker smooths turn initiation and softens chop. In softer, windblown snow the slightly fuller tip helps the ski plane rather than sink, so you get decent float for a 92 mm waist. At higher speeds it stays predictable rather than razor‑sharp; it’s not a heavy big‑mountain plank, but it rewards precise input and carries speed well for its weight class.
Construction blends a paulownia wood core with 2‑axis AmpliTex flax and fiberglass, cork tip inserts for vibration damping, a sintered P‑tex base and a lightweight touring edge. These choices produce a lively but damped feel, with low mass for the climb. Tip/waist/tail measurements (for example 169 cm: 127/92/116 mm) affect performance: wider tips aid flotation and turn initiation, the 92 mm waist is a versatile all‑mountain compromise, and the tail width influences release and stability. Radius values influence turn size, and weight impacts fatigue on ascents.
Strengths include excellent uphill ergonomics and an engaging downhill personality for a touring‑minded ski. The cork and flax help smooth chatter and reduce rider fatigue, while the double‑plate reinforcement maintains solid power transmission to the bindings. Trade‑offs are that in very deep or technical big‑mountain conditions the ski will feel narrower and less damped than a dedicated fat freeride ski. Also, if you prioritize pure carving on firm, icy pistes, a stiffer, heavier piste ski will outperform it.
Compared with other lightweight skis in the 90–95 mm category, the Sequence 92 stands out for its natural vibration damping and thoughtful material choices. It matches well against competitors that aim for a similar uphill/downhill balance, offering slightly more comfort and sustainability through flax and cork. I recommend it to tourers who want one quiver‑of‑one tool that climbs well and confidently handles varied snow; pick a length based on rider weight, preferred turn radius and whether you favour nimbleness or high‑speed stability.
