Lib Tech Wunderstick 100 — Review

Overview

The Lib Tech Wunderstick 100 is a directional 100mm all-mountain freeride ski built with basalt-fiber Eco Light B45 construction and Lib Tech's serrated Magne-Traction edges. Its 17m radius across all three lengths (171/178/185cm) and early-rise tip target one-ski-quiver skiers who want hardpack bite and enough tip float for off-piste variety.

On-snow performance

Magne-Traction's wavy edge geometry adds hardpack bite versus a straight-edged 100mm platform, and the freeride/freestyle contour with early-rise tip keeps the shovel above chop. The B45 basalt/wood layup lands mid-weight: not a light tourer, but easier to swing than a full-metal 100mm. 17m radius across all lengths is a compromise between short-turn playfulness and open-mountain arc.

Construction & specs explained

171cm: 129/100/119, 17m, ~1692g, flex 6.5/10. 178cm: 131/100/120, 17m, ~1828g, flex 7/10. 185cm: 137/100/125, 17m, ~1951g, flex 7.5/10. Eco Light B45 basalt-fiber sandwich sidewall over recycled hybrid PET/eco wood core. Sintered base, serrated Magne-Traction edges. Touring/clip-friendly shape.

Who it's for & comparisons

Versus the K2 Mindbender 99Ti it's a lighter, less metal-planted freeride with more playful character; against the Nordica Enforcer 99 it's less directional-titanal and more freestyle-forgiving; alongside the Armada Arv 100 it swaps park-forward flex for freeride shape with the Magne-Traction hardpack angle.

Pros, cons and verdict

Pros

  • Magne-Traction adds meaningful hardpack bite.
  • Basalt Eco Light layup lands mid-weight.
  • Three lengths across the same 17m radius.
  • Directional shape still turns tight when carved.

Cons

  • Serrated edges take longer to tune.
  • Not a powder specialist at 100mm waist.
  • Basalt lay-up dampens vs full-metal race platforms.
  • Marketing-heavy naming; specs are the important part.

Verdict: A committed 100mm one-ski-quiver freeride with genuine hardpack teeth thanks to Magne-Traction, sitting between metal-race carvers and pure freestyle 100mms.
