Overview

The Fischer The Curv Noize GT 85 is the 2026/27 name of Fischer's 85 mm frontside ski: the 25/26 version is reviewed as the Fischer The curv gt 85. The shape carries over — Fischer and retailers list 133-85-118 mm and a 15 m radius at 175 cm for both seasons — but the build does not. The new ski gains Fischer's Noize Control vibration damping and a second titanal layer (Shaped Ti 0.8/0.5, where the 25/26 ski was sold with Shaped Ti 0.8). It comes as a system with the RSW 12 GW binding on a Superflex plate, in 161, 168, 175 and 182 cm.

On-snow performance

On paper this is a carver that leans towards power. Fischer rates it for advanced and expert skiers, tags it "more on-piste" and promises a ski that can handle aggressive skiing while staying smooth with excellent grip. The E-Triple Radius sidecut runs a tighter radius in the middle of the ski and longer radii at the tip and tail, so the ski should bite quickly at turn entry and then hold a calm, longer arc. Radii run from 13.5 m (161 cm) to 15.5 m (182 cm): short enough for medium turns, long enough to stay settled at speed. The 85 mm waist gives a stable platform on chopped-up afternoon snow, but this is a groomer ski first; soft-snow float is not its job.

Construction & specs explained

  • Core and metal: Solid Woodcore with Shaped Ti 0.8/0.5 — titanal shaped to the ski's geometry for stability and grip.
  • Noize Control: Fischer's damping technology, aimed at less chatter and a quieter ride in turns.
  • Fiberglas Bridge: adds torsional stiffness and power transfer.
  • Sandwich Sidewall Construction and a sintered base; factory edges 1° base / 87° side.
  • Profile: On-Piste Rocker, a slightly raised tip for easier turn entry on groomed runs.
  • Plate and binding: Superflex plate (Powerrail only) with the RSW 12 GW (DIN 3.5-12).
  • Per length: 161 cm 132-85-115 / 13.5 m; 168 cm 132-85-116 / 14 m; 175 cm 133-85-118 / 15 m; 182 cm 134-85-119 / 15.5 m.
  • Weight per ski without binding (with plate): 2050 g (161), 2130 g (168), 2310 g (175), 2370 g (182).

Who it's for & comparisons

It suits strong piste skiers who want one 85 mm ski for fast groomers, with a bit of spare width for late-day piles. Next to the narrower Fischer The curv gtx it gives up some quickness for a broader, calmer platform; the Fischer The curv gt 80 is the lighter, softer step down in the same family. Outside Fischer, the Head Supershape e titan is a similarly metal-heavy frontside option with a slightly longer radius, the Rossignol Experience 86 ti offers an 86 mm waist with lighter published weights, and the Stockli Montero ar is a premium alternative for skiers who want even more stability.

Pros, cons and verdict

Pros

  • Two titanal layers and Noize Control promise a calm, damp ride at speed.
  • E-Triple Radius sidecut combines quick turn entry with a stable finish.
  • 85 mm waist adds security when groomers get chopped up.
  • Four lengths from 161 to 182 cm with published per-length dimensions.

Cons

  • Heavy: 2310 g per ski at 175 cm before the binding goes on.
  • System ski: the Superflex plate only takes Powerrail bindings.
  • Built for groomers; limited float in soft snow.
  • Asks for an advanced, active skier to get the most out of it.

Verdict: A stronger, quieter take on Fischer's 85 mm carver with the same shape as before; pick it if you want a powerful frontside ski that keeps a little width in reserve.
