The wide tip eases turn initiation, the narrow waist promotes quick edge-to-edge transitions and tight arc carving, and the wider tail helps maintain stability exiting turns. Together these elements give young athletes control, predictability and the room to develop speed and technique safely.
Construction and Key Technologies
Construction is focused on race performance: a Response Frame laminated woodcore for lively rebound and durability, Dual Ti (two titan/aluminum laminates) and fiberglass for torsional stiffness, and RST racing sidewalls for consistent edge contact. The Raceplate WCR TEAM plate is included, providing a stiff platform and precise power transfer between boot and ski. A race‑structured, high‑speed base is ready for waxing. On‑Snow Performance
On snow the Ace RCX feels direct and responsive. The Early Rise Rocker lightens turn initiation, which benefits younger skiers learning to commit to the arc. The short turn radii — 8.5 m for 122 cm and 9.8 m for 128 cm — favor quick, dynamic short turns while the metal laminates and RST walls retain stability as speeds rise. The ski pivots quickly yet keeps pressure on the edge where it matters, making it a great tool for slalom-style drills and racers seeking precision without excessive effort.
Bindings, Fit and Sizing
Bindings and fit are important: the Ace RCX ships with the Raceplate WCR TEAM and is compatible with junior race bindings (EL 7.5, ER 11.0 and ER 11.0 FreeFlex options), creating a race-ready mounting solution. The manufacturer does not publish a weight per ski, which complicates exact swing-weight estimates — relevant for aerial work but less critical on piste for younger racers. Select length according to rider height and skill: 122 cm for smaller/less experienced juniors and 128 cm for larger or more advanced U12 skiers.
