The Reliance 82 C positions itself as a lively frontside all‑mountain ski that blends quick edge‑to‑edge response with enough forgiveness for mixed conditions. With an 82 mm waist and EST All‑Mountain Rocker — tip and tail rocker with camber underfoot — it initiates turns easily, snaps into carves, and still provides some float in softer snow. It sits between playful and precise, making it a strong choice for intermediate‑to‑advanced skiers who spend most of their time on groomers but want a ski that can handle chopped snow and occasional off‑piste forays.
Construction combines a lightweight Caruba core, full‑length AR100 sidewalls, and woven carbon stringers. The core keeps mass low for quick handling while preserving torsional stiffness; sidewalls deliver crisp edge hold and power transfer; carbon adds lively rebound and pop. Tip/waist/tail widths vary by length (122–128 / 82 / 106.6–110 mm). Turn radius ranges from 14.2–15.9 m which dictates turn arc — shorter lengths favor quicker, tighter turns while longer lengths track better at speed. Individual ski weight runs roughly 1275–1525 g, aiding nimbleness and fatigue reduction.
On snow the ski feels responsive and communicative. The EST rocker smooths turn initiation and makes the tips forgiving on variable snow, while camber underfoot maintains grip and rebound on firmer surfaces. The AR100 sidewall and 2.1 mm heat‑treated edge provide confident edge bite on hardpack. Given its 82 mm waist, the Reliance 82 C excels on groomers and in short to medium radius carves; it can handle light powder patches but is not a deep‑snow specialist.
Choose length according to rider weight, skill and preferred turn shape: 150–158 cm favor snappier, shorter turns; 166–174 cm deliver more high‑speed stability and longer arc carving. Flex profile rated roughly 3‑5‑3 (tip‑waist‑tail) means a softer tip and tail for forgiveness with a firmer midsection that supports stability and rebound through the turn. Less advanced skiers might find the lively character demanding at first, while intermediates and advanced recreational skiers will enjoy the energetic feedback and edge precision.
Highlights include light overall weight, lively carbon energy and strong edge hold for an 82 mm ski. Trade‑offs: the narrow waist limits float in deep, unconsolidated snow compared with broader all‑mountain skis, and extremely aggressive big‑mountain skiers may prefer the 82 Ti for additional damping and power. Compared to the Reliance 88 C, the 82 C is more piste‑focused and quicker edge‑to‑edge, while the 88 C offers a touch more versatility off‑piste and at variable speeds.
