The highest day-pass prices

We read the 2026/27 price lists of the resorts themselves where they are online. All prices are for one adult, one day, at the ticket office, in the most expensive season.

Ski Arlberg had not yet put its day prices online on Tuesday 27 October 2026; its page says they are "being finalized". The €85 main-season price for Arlberg comes from news reports, not from the operator.

Switzerland: up 2.3 % after a record year

Swiss lift companies plan to raise day-ticket prices by 2.3 % on average, SRF reported on Tuesday 20 October 2026, with figures from the industry body Seilbahnen Schweiz. Over five years, prices rose by 7 %. The lifts took almost CHF 2 billion, the best result since 2014.

"If you have a new product that offers something new, you can also move the price up," said Berno Stoffel, director of Seilbahnen Schweiz, in the SRF report (translated from German). Not every resort follows: the Jungfrau Ski Region keeps its CHF 79 and CHF 83 day prices from last winter.

Austria and Germany climb fastest

Snowplaza compares six-day high-season passes in 36 Alpine resorts every year. The 2026/27 average is €388, against €375 last winter, a rise of 3.4 %.

In Salzburg, the 80-euro line is gone. The Pinzgau areas, among them Saalbach and the Kitzsteinhorn, now charge €82 for an adult day pass, up from €79, Salzburg24 reported. The Ippen regional papers put the rise in Austria, Switzerland and South Tyrol at 2 to 5 %, in places up to 7 %.

France and Italy

The 3 Vallées day pass costs €84.20 this winter, according to Val Thorens. On Saturdays, the same pass is 20 % cheaper. In Chamonix, the Mont-Blanc Unlimited day pass rises to €104 at the ticket office, up from €100, Mon séjour en montagne reported.

Dolomiti Superski sells the six-day high-season pass for €453 and a season pass for €990 in presale. The region invests about €100 million for this winter, its price release says.

How to pay less than the ticket office

The ticket-office price is now the ceiling, not the normal price. Many resorts sell cheaper online, early or on quiet days.

  • Zugspitze: €70.50 online, €78 at the ticket office.
  • Sölden: the lower online price holds until 5 days before your first ski day; after that, you pay the ticket-office price online too.
  • SkiWelt: €71.50 instead of €79.50 from 5 to 18 December and from 13 to 29 March.
  • Zermatt: from CHF 89 in November and late April; the price rises with demand.
  • Les 3 Vallées: 20 % off on Saturdays.

What this means for your skis

A six-day pass costs €478.50 in Sölden's top season and €451 in Ischgl: for many skiers the largest fixed cost of a ski week, before rental. We found no 2026/27 rental price list from a named shop in these resorts as of 27 October 2026, so we cannot compare pass and rental cost yet.

If you ski on groomed pistes most of the week, a 78–84 mm piste ski covers it. Compare the Völkl Peregrine 80, the Salomon Stance 84, the Rossignol Arcade 80 and the Atomic Redster Q9 on the makers' figures, or let Pick-a-Ski rank the catalog for your level.
